The Original Building

The Original Church

Below are prints from copper plates that were recently found in the church basement, in the room that used to house the church's print shop in the early 1900s. Special thanks to Mark Lunning of Open Press, Ltd. for cleaning the plates and printing the images, and to David Schler for making it happen.

An early image of the church showing the spires intact and a cupola just behind the bell tower. Trolley lines can be seen running along First Avenue.

The pastor is either Dr. Wm. A. Hunter, who served from 1899-1909 or Dr. James F. Elder, who was pastor from 1909-1917.
